Here is a list of my favorite books, services, and products that supported my journey. Every item is something I have read or used personally. Many of these are affiliate links, which mean I benefit if you use them to make a purchase.
First and foremost, we have to recommend Unbelievable Freedom, the book about how we lost 220 lbs and gained peace, joy & freedom through Intermittent Fasting:
Next and just as important is Delay, Don't Deny: Living an Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle by Gin Stephens. Can you remember when one book changed the trajectory of your whole life? I can!
Our third recommendation is Feast Without Fear, Gin's second book and a companion to Delay, Don't Deny. It helps you understand why there is no perfect diet and you should eat according to your own body's needs.
If you are looking for a "heavy science" book written by a doctor who has used intermittent fasting to help patients reverse Type 2 diabetes, The Obesity Code is a great one. Dr. Fung is a brilliant guy doing very important work to understand the science of obesity. Ryan and I both read it and found it valuable in informing our thinking about IF.
Mel Robbins' 5-Second Rule has changed how I think about being action oriented. It cured me of a decades-long snooze button habit, which has created more time and space in my life, just like intermittent fasting has. I recommend it for changing behaviors of any kind, small or large.
Gay Hendricks' The Big Leap is a book about the Upper Limit Problem and our tendency to sabotage ourselves when things get too good in our lives. We all have old narratives that create "limiting beliefs", and this can play a role in why we regain weight after losing it.
Brene Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection is a wonderful guidebook to wholehearted living. It's probably no surprise that I love the message of letting go of shame and "owning your story" for empowerment.
